HOW TO PRACTICALLY FOSTER EMPATHY IN SCHOOLS
Laiali Chaar, a teacher, master’s and doctoral degree holder in neuroscience, believes that empathy goes beyond putting oneself in another person’s shoes—it means the human capacity to truly feel what the other person feels. Considering that children and young people spend a significant part of their day at school, the educational environment plays a fundamental role in their personality development. According to Laiali, this context invites teachers to reflect on how to promote and stimulate empathy among students, both in their relationships with their peers and through their interactions with educators.
